The Cayuga Lake Swim/Run replaces the Cayuga Lake Triathlon (CLT) for 2021! It is organized by the Ithaca Triathlon Club and is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. The Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York is home to a number of world famous wineries. Taughannock Falls State Park, about 8 miles north of Ithaca, provides a picturesque setting for the whole family to enjoy the triathlon, along with public swimming, a playground, shaded picnic areas and hiking trails. Tent, RV and cabin camping is available, and the Park maintains a marina with a boat ramp for access to Cayuga Lake. The park is an excellent spot for families with a beach and swim area and large playground.
You’ll begin the race with a swim in one of the crown jewels of the region, the refreshingly cool waters of Cayuga Lake. You’ll finish with a run near the shore, through the shaded and magnificent gorge trail to Taughannock Falls, the highest water fall in the Northeast at 215 feet. Cross the finish line with cheering crowds and a bevy of volunteers ready to serve a variety of delightful treats. See for yourself why Cayuga Lake Swim/Run is one of the premier triathlon events in central New York. It’s a very well organized race with fantastic volunteers and spectators, all within the heart of one of the most spectacular New York State parks.

Time Restrictions for Intermediate and Sprint Races
Athletes are expected to be able to complete the race before the 1pm cutoff.
Under no circumstances will a competitor in either race be allowed to start a run loop after 12:30pm with a timing chip. If participants desire to continue on the course after their timing chip has been pulled, they do so at their own risk with the understanding that there will be no race support on the course, and that transition zone security will end at this time. Equipment left in transition after this time is done so at the risk of each competitor.
If you register for the intermediate race you should be able to complete the individual legs in approximately 1 hour for the swim, 1.5 hours for the run. We realize athletes may have a particularly weak (or strong) discipline so the exact cut-offs will remain at the discretion of the race directors. We reserve the right to pull you from any leg if we anticipate your continuation in the event may result in harm to yourself or your fellow competitors.
